Honouring the memory of the late Allan Sefton and his contribution to the Illawarra community as a naturalist and conservationist, the Allan Sefton Memorial Lecture is presented each year by a distinguished Australian scientist on a topic of environmental interest.

This year’s guest speaker is Professor Bruce Thom, Member, Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists, and Honorary Professorial Fellow in the School of Earth & Environmental Sciences at UOW.  Bruce’s guest talk title is “Healthy environments and productive economy – a challenge for the future of Australia”.

Hosted by the School of Earth & Environmental Sciences, the lecture is also supported by BlueScope Steel, Wollongong City Council, and friends of the Sefton family.
